Responsibilities of a Bistro/Dining Room Supervisor include:

• Supervision of Cafe and Dining Room floor staff which includes: Cafe attendants, host/hostess, servers, runners and bus staff.
• Communicating with residents daily to ensure quality assurance of service.
• Involvement with the planning and operation aspects of catering functions.
• Assisting in development of strong teamwork and exceptional hospitality among staff members.
• Scheduling of all dining staff members.
• Focusing on sanitation and food handling aspects of the operation.
• Coordinating the training schedule and agendas of all staff members.
• Initiating the hiring process, including interviewing, reference checks, etc.
• Acquiring, operating and training knowledge of the Menu Board.
• Assisting the Director of Dining Services with the coordination of catering functions as pertaining to the Cafe and or Restaurants.
• Acting as a liaison between the Cafe attendants/dining room staff and the kitchen staff with food preparation standards and goals.
• Participating in following operational budget guidelines allowing the Dining Services Department to meet their set goals.
• Managing employee counseling and evaluation.
• Establishing good working conditions and communication with all staff members.
• Maintaining confidentiality of resident information.
• Other duties as assigned by a manager.

Requirements of a Bistro/Dining Room Supervisor:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2-3 years dining room management experience.
• Full service restaurant experience preferred.
• ServSafe Certification OR willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Possess a mastery of POS System.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
