The salary range for this role is: $123,080.88 - $221,417.04 Responsibilities: This position is responsible for managing the company’s $350M packaging and ingredient portfolio with over 120 vendors. It is responsible for every aspect of packaging and ingredient procurement, including strategic sourcing; contract strategy, development, and administration; supplier onboarding; and supplier relationship management. This position frequently leads or participates on broad cross-functional teams and is responsible for planning, directing, and executing new product development projects. Accountable for maintaining the standards set forth in Del Monte Foods, Inc. (DMFI) Procurement Policy, Processes, and Procedures relating to DMFI’s Packaging and Ingredient spend. Strategic Sourcing: Lead and support the creation, implementation of comprehensive category strategies and sourcing strategies for packaging and ingredients, setting objectives 1-3 years out, focused on bringing competitive advantage to DMFI through expected quality at the best landed cost. Participate in cross-functional collaboration to align procurement strategies with product development, production schedules, and market demand. Cost Optimization and Financial Analysis: Provide and manage the annual packaging and ingredient operating plan and latest estimates (budget), which consists of item level forecasts grounded in a strong understanding of commodity markets and supplier conversion costs to determine standard cost. Lead and support the identification of cost savings projects by challenging supplier pricing, generating value engineering ideas, focusing on continuous improvement, and reducing non-value-added administrative activities. Continually analyze Procurement KPIs and Financial Metrics to track performance through Purchase Price Variance (PPV) reporting and reviewing results of cost savings initiatives or adverse events. Provide appropriate visibility to management of commodity pricing and its impact on company financials. Supplier Relationship Management Foster strong and collaborative relationships with suppliers that advance mutual growth and innovation. Routinely identify and evaluate new sources of supply for DMFI by identifying suppliers with new and evolving capabilities. Lead and support the drafting, negotiation, and management of contracts for all packaging and ingredient suppliers by team and ensuring that contract policy is enforced through partnership with DMFI Legal. Develop reports to evaluate supplier performance and resolve operational and invoicing issues in a timely manner. Compliance and Risk Management Support operations team by assisting in resolving raw material issues to mitigate risk to DMFI. Ensure all suppliers have consistent forecast visibility and adequate capacity. Keep management informed on necessary compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, or sustainability initiatives that may be impactful. Team and Data Management: Organizational agility to manage cross functional teams, both formally and informally. Influence these cross functional teams while balancing different objectives. Develop new processes, reports, and ways of working within DMFI. Act as an agent of change. Effectively and efficiently manage multiple projects and priorities, ensuring timelines are met. Develop KPI’s to ensure data integrity in SAP, GT Nexus, or any other relevant business systems. At least 10 years of experience in strategic global sourcing, contract manufacturing, or supply chain in the consumer-packaged goods industry. Proven leadership skills. Strong knowledge of packaging materials, ingredients, manufacturing processes, and supply chain dynamics, with a demonstrated ability to drive cost-effective and sustainable procurement strategies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a skilled negotiator with ability to influence stakeholders across levels and functions at DMFI. Extensive knowledge of international contract management. Solid business acumen, strong analytical skills, and proven capabilities in the area of project management. Strong ability to work in cross functional and team-oriented environment with multiple disciplines. Proficiency in procurement software, ERP Systems, and Data Analysis Tools. Travel up to 20%.
