Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met and protocols are followed.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Engage individuals in in-home sensory recreational activities
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents
- Advocate for resident rights and ensure their well-being
- Lift and transfer individuals as needed
- Drive individuals to appointments or community outings
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with individuals with autism or intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures is a plus
- Ability to effectively manage challenging behaviors and implement behavior support plans
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow policy and procedures accordingly.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, CPR & First Aid
