Direct Support Professional jobs in Laramie, WY

Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting
- Implement individualized care plans and behavior management strategies
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Foster a positive and supportive environment for residents
- Document and report any changes in behavior or health status to appropriate personnel
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Advocate for resident rights and promote independence

Experience:
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred however, not required
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
- Familiarity with first aid procedures and emergency response protocols
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as needed
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

Note: This position does not require a background in social work or nursing. However, experience in childcare or related fields can be beneficial.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 40 per week
