The Director - Training and Development will provide overall leadership for the Training & Development Department, including implementing strategies and direction to enhance the learning experience and improve the application of knowledge across all school locations and Home Office using Instructor Led Training (ILT), Distance Learning, eLearning, and blended solutions and through learning communities using Learning Management System (LMS). A critical focus will be optimizing the use of the eLearning and collaborative learning features of our Learning Management System. This hands-on position will work collaboratively with Home Office and School Operations to ensure a unified approach and high-quality standards in the eLearning environment.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
1) Management. This position will provide management for our Training & Development Team, working with all team members to ensure that they know their roles and are equipped to respond to the needs of the business. He/she will provide leadership, management, direction, and coaching, mentoring, training and professional development for Training & Development team members.
2) Collaboration with other Team Members. This position will work with people across the organization to develop and implement plans for increasing employee success through the use of e-Learning courses/programs.
3) Content Development & Delivery. This position will provide general leadership for the development of all training materials to be used at EEG, using delivery methods to include eLearning, distance learning, Instructor Led Training, Learning Communities, and collaborative learning, as appropriate. Content materials should have clear goals and focus learners on learning objectives, provide context and perspective, compress the learning process, engage learners with clear and meaningful content.
4) Vendor and Content Selection. Participate in the selection of external vendors of training content and/or external programs to be purchased for internal use.
5) Track, Document and Report. Document project out comes for internal and external stakeholders. Track success of training and its effectiveness as it relates to the individual job functions through the EEG system.
6) Other Training Tools. In addition to general content for training programs, other training tools may need to be developed, as follows:
•Support, enhance, and produce scripts for training.
•Design presentations for conferences and webinars.
•Update training documents on a consistent basis.
•Evaluate and revise training tools as appropriate.
•Write and develop technical documents.
7) Consistent Theme, Format and Branding. Oversees the development and on-going use of consistent instructional format, theme and branding of content for all organization's training programs. Ensures collaboration with the Communications and Marketing Departments to achieve the right look and feel of the training materials and content. Maintains knowledge of copyright and trademark rules for writing and delivering content.
8) Role Specific Training. This position will be responsible for ensuring all role specific training is developed and delivered to all appropriate school-based management staff.
9) Training Success. This position will oversee and develop methodologies for measuring training success and ensuring that knowledge is being gained, used, retained, and transferred to the work environment.
10) Success Factors. Work with the Training & Development and Education teams to develop structures for e-Learning that facilitate employee success and engagement while driving student success outcomes.
11) Change Management. Work with the Learning & Development Team and other departments to evolve our learning practices to best suit the needs of the organization, seeking to strengthen outcomes and build efficiencies. The work environment for this position is fast-paced with frequently changing priorities.
