Key Responsibilities
? Create a system of recruitment, interviewing, and acceptance/elimination for each 10-
month Workforce Development cohort, ensuring a minimum of 10 individuals are selected
for each program year.
? Spearhead the development of calendars/schedules for each 10-month cohort covering all
necessary training and work.
? Oversee creation of participant handbook, contracts, orientation, assessment materials,
and other cohort paperwork and procedures.
? Manage and develop Workforce Development employees, to include the Education
Coordinator, Lead Construction Trainer, and Assistant Construction trainer, establishing
system of regular feedback and oversight of annual formal reviews, creating a work
environment focused on employee development and growth.
? Work collaboratively with Construction Project Manager and all other construction partners
in scheduling and participant management to maximize construction skill development.
? Establish and maintain a program culture that remains focused on the education and
development of program participants.
? Create structure to regularly check in on the progress of each participant’s Individual
Success Plan and Individual Education Plan, providing or facilitating individualized support
to ensure each participant is consistently attaining outlined goals within each 10- month
cohort.
? Oversee grant oversight, ensuring all necessary applicant, interview, and program
participant information and measurements are accounted for, remaining up-to-date in both
physical files and electronic tracking system.
? Ensure all grant reports and documents are submitted as required, attend all grant
meetings/conferences/trainings.
? Manage program assessments and continuing measurement metrics to ensure program
and participants are meeting short and long-term goals.
? Forecast and manage program budget, providing necessary reports/documentation, and
? ensuring both grant and organization financial requirements are met.
? Remain up-to-date on current workforce program trends, new education opportunities
? that may pertain to participant development, as well as personal/individual development.
? Assist on construction site and in the classroom environment to ensure learning
? experiences are valuable and effective.
? In addition to soft skills, assist in developing program participants professional,
? interpersonal, and emotional proficiencies, which will aid in personal and professional
? successes after program completion.
? Analyze each cohort after conclusion and develop systems to increase efficiency and
? effectiveness of future cohorts.
? Support and contribute to fundraising for the program
? Comply with all Director-level responsibilities including, but not limited to, monthly director
meetings, Director Retreats, salesforce reporting, etc.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
? Skilled in forming relationships with and training young adults.
? Bachelors degree in education or related field preferred.
? Adept with technology, skilled in navigating and/or learning a variety of computer
? software/programs.
? Prior grant/program oversight and personnel management experience required.
? Familiarity with the local community, Lakota language, and culture.
? Skilled in leadership, management, and staff development.
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
? Able to excel in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment with a variety of personalities
and competing deadlines/priorities, always ensuring participant development remains the
priority.
? Comfortable in office/training environment as well as working outside, in inclement
? weather, completing manual labor/construction related tasks.
? Adept in working, teaching, and communicating through a variety of techniques,
? allowing increased engagement/development for a variety of learning styles.
