    DESCRIPTION:
    The Director of Multiplatform Marketing will bridge the gap between our current creative services and our storytelling teams – overseeing unit of combined resources. This role will report directly to VP of News & Creative Content and will be responsible for increasing engagement on all screens, through a non-traditional approach to marketing content across platforms. This role will be highly engaged in storytelling, from concept creation to execution while strategically leveraging all screens to drive viewer consumption. The ideal candidate for this position is a true champion of cross-trained teams, finding success by strategically leveraging shared resources for topical linear production, digital marketing and producing special content (including but not limited to: story series, specials, community engagement experiences).

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Works with VP of News & Creative Content and General Manager to stand up station identity and develop brand to be delivered on all screens.
    • Manages team of promotions manager, topical producers, special projects unit
    • Works with news managers, ensuring digital producers leverage assets to market content on all screens.
    • Works with promotions manager to identify priority topical content and oversees overall execution across screens.
    • Oversees production of station promotional campaigns
    • Works with VP of News & Creative Content and General Manager to develop strategic plan for community engagement.
    • Works closely with station EPIC, identifying marketing opportunities through community events and engagement.
    • Works with the special projects EP and EP of Impacting Communities to drive strategy behind selection, production and placement of special/community/non-traditional news content.
    • Drives cross-collaboration between creative team and news, participating in daily editorial discussions and managing approach to market stories for all screens.
    • Supports promotion manager in maintaining daily brand marketing strategy, identifying path for field crews to raise awareness about their stories and leveraging cross-trained staff to effectively produce marketing material.
    • Develop platform-specific strategic plan, leveraging data and analytics through experimentation.
    • Work closely with Director of Research and Digital Managing Editor to develop KPI understanding among content creators.
    • Responsible for growing digital consumption and minutes spent viewing content, by successfully marketing content on all screens.
    • Grow the funnel, offering snackable content on digital platforms, feeding back viewers into the linear space.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Proven track record of applying a strategic approach to digital marketing.
    • Experience leading special projects units, and building marketing strategies around storytelling.
    • Proven experience increasing viewership on stream/OTT platforms.
    • Proven track record streamlining production workflows.
    • Experience with experimentation in formats and shooting styles, willingness to break the traditional mindset and storytelling mold.
    • Extensive experience building brands, identifying effective messaging & visuals to grow an audience on non-traditional platforms.
    • Minimum 5 years experience working in medium to large media markets, managing a creative services and/or special projects unit.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
