Director - Stage, Motion Pictures, Television interprets plays and scripts for production. Auditions and identifies performers for roles in specific productions and conducts rehearsals. Being a Director - Stage, Motion Pictures, Television may require an associate's degree or its equivalent and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Director - Stage, Motion Pictures, Television relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Responsible for assisting with assembling and disassembling of stages for concerts, conventions and numerous major productions.
Load and unload equipment from trucks.
Unload and set up road cases.
Ensure props are affixed properly.
Assist with video, sound and light (as qualified and needed)
Disassemble and store sets.
Ensure props are present at the beginning of scene and taken away at the end.
Dismantle stages and other set pieces.
Clean up stage and backstage area after event. It is required to have a high level of fitness, good teamwork skills, and work well under pressure.
Good practical and technical skills desired.
