    Position Summary:
    The Facilities Support Services unit seeks an Event & Stage Coordinator to support University events on campus. This position will be responsible for the technical direction, including sound and lighting, stage operations, and support of non-academic use of Smith Auditorium and Rogers Music Center. This position will be required to coordinate with the Events Scheduling & Conferences department and primary users around event needs and execution. This position will also be responsible for event setup needs in other campus facilities as the needs arise and schedule allows. This position must be service oriented and must be able to work harmoniously with other staff, faculty, students, and visitors on campus while performing the duties of this position.

    JOB DUTIES
    • Available to work flexible hours and shifts to accommodate the events schedule.
    • Prepares facilities and rooms for specific events as scheduled by the University Facilities Scheduler. This includes assisting and supervising load-in, set-up and load-out of touring companies when applicable.
    • Sets up and operates sound, audio-visual and lighting equipment and has the ability to train students and other staff members on how to operate all equipment.
    • Manages the rigging and operation of curtains, drops, scenery, flats and various soft goods.
    • Has the ability to generate ground plans & elevations of lighting plots, speaker plots, and performance spaces using USITT standards.
    • Ability to read and execute technical riders and contracts in support of the Scheduling Manager's contracting and scheduling.
    • Assists with event setups, room configurations and teardowns/cleanups for all assigned events on campus.
    • Move & set-up furniture and equipment as requested by the supervisor or manager.
    • Assists with training and supervision of up to 10 work-study students with several designated as Technical assistants or leads
    • Advises and supports ASWU Sound with inventory tracking of equipment.
    • Provides recommendations of needs and upgrades for student events.
    • Performs routine and continuous inspection of facilities and event equipment and reports to the Scheduling Manager any needed maintenance or remedies.
    • Works collaboratively with the Music Department's AV Support Technician for events occurring in Rogers or Smith; shares and maintains use of equipment in these spaces.
    • Assists Event Support Lead with room configuration, event setups and execution for all event facilities on Campus.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a program emphasizing auditorium and stage production duties or any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. BFA/BA in technical theatre/production or equivalent preferred.
    • Three to seven years of related experience.
    • Ability to frequently and safely lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability to work from ladders and grids up to 50 feet in height and catwalks suspended from a ceiling.
    • Ability to work extra hours, alternative shifts and flexible hours as needed.
    • Ability to work without direct supervision, as well as establish and maintain harmonious relations with other staff, faculty and students.
    • Ability to work for extended periods of time while walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, lifting objects, and pushing/pulling heavy carts of equipment while often exposed to dirt, dust, odors and inclement weather in areas sometimes dimly-lit.
    • Sometimes requires traveling from building to building outdoors and occasionally traversing steps/stairs.
    • Ability to reside in Oregon by the first day of employment or otherwise perform work primarily in Ore

    Salary: $26.97 per hour
