Discharge Coordinator jobs in Minnesota

Centrasota Oral Surgeons has a full-time opening (Monday-Friday) for a Discharge Coordinator in our St. Cloud office. We are looking for a team member with excellent written and verbal communication skills, organization, and the ability to provide quality customer service to patients of all ages. This position offers 9 days per pay period once training is complete.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Post patient charges and payments and verify for accuracy.
• Set up medical and/or dental insurance claims (Send dental prior authorizations).
• Review “walk-out” statements with patients and collect payments.
• Accurately balance accounts receivable/daily transactions (cash, check and credit card).
• Email/mail referral correspondence daily.
• Process specialty clinic referrals and send.
• Order biopsy supplies as needed.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Effectively incorporate the use of technology into day-to-day tasks (Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Delta Dental Tool Kit, Carecredit, U of M Oral Pathology website).
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and practice information.
• Communicate effectively and positively with providers, patients, and co-workers.
• Ability to work as a team member and independently.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/TRAINING:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 – 2 years customer service experience.
• Experience with insurance required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Ability to organize work for efficiency.
• Accounts receivable experience helpful but not necessary.
