Job Description:
Wittenberg University is recruiting for a Dispatch Operator for the Wittenberg Police Division. The Dispatch Operator will answer emergency and non-emergency calls, gather information and dispatch officer(s); provide communications back up to officers; respond to requests from officers for residence, vehicle, and age verification, etc.; observe proper radio procedure and dispatch protocol; maintain dispatch logs via computer aided dispatch system; and follow established policies, procedures, protocols, and laws. This is a full-time, non-exempt position, reporting to the Assistant Director of the Department of Public Safety. Full time positions are eligible for benefits.

The Wittenberg Police Division is a 24-hour, 7 day a week operation, including holidays. This position requires the ability to work 1st, 2nd, and/or 3rd shifts, weekends, and holidays. Evening and night shifts are eligible for an additional $0.50 per hour shift premium pay. Dispatchers must be able to work additional hours on short notice as necessary.
