Distance Learning and Education Director manages administrative functions of the distance learning program. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Distance Learning and Education Director leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Distance Learning and Education Director requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Distance Learning and Education Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Education Director
Will communicate and build relationships with families, supervise a team of education professionals, and assist employees in succeeding in their roles. Strong communication and organizational skills are required. This role will also track, document, and set performance goals for students while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to maximize student outcomes and effectively communicate with families.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (Required)
Master’s degree (Preferred)
PA Special Education teaching certification (Required)
Supervisory experience (Preferred)
Passion for supporting students with developmental delays
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Accomplish department objectives by supervising a team of educators and organizing and monitoring work processes
Review weekly lesson plans and guide teachers through lesson plan development
Manage State Testing administration and monitor Hope’s state testing performance and compliance
Support the Hope Academy Team in training staff on the process of writing and updating high-quality IEPs, RRs, 504s, and other relevant special education documents
Lead performance management of academic staff by providing consultation, training, and mentoring
