Distance Learning and Education Director manages administrative functions of the distance learning program. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Distance Learning and Education Director leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Distance Learning and Education Director requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Distance Learning and Education Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Responsibilities :

    • Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify learning objectives, target audience characteristics, and performance gaps.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand training requirements.
    • Develop comprehensive instructional strategies and curriculum plans aligned with organizational goals.
    • Design and organize content in a logical and learner-centric manner.
    • Create engaging and interactive learning materials, including e-learning modules, instructional videos, presentations, and job aids.
    • Write clear, concise, and effective instructional content.
    • Apply pedagogical principles and adult learning theories to design effective learning experiences.
    • Utilize a variety of instructional methods, media, and technologies to enhance learning outcomes.
    • Stay updated on e-learning tools and technologies to incorporate multimedia elements, simulations, and interactive content.
    • Evaluate and select appropriate instructional technologies based on project requirements.
    • Develop assessments and evaluations to measure the effectiveness of training programs.
    • Gather and analyze feedback to continuously improve instructional materials and delivery methods.
    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
    • Collaborate with project teams, including graphic designers, multimedia specialists, and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and team members.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
    • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in instructional design.
    • Continuously enhance personal and professional skills through training and development opportunities.

    Essential Skills & Experience :

    • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
    • Proven experience in instructional design and e-learning development.
    • Proficiency in instructional design software and authoring tools.
    • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
    • Prior experience within the educational field is preferred.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) is a plus.
