Distribution Center Supervisor supervises daily planning, organizing, and operations of a distribution center. Oversees one or more of the distribution center functions, including order processing, picking, packaging, shipping, and receiving. Being a Distribution Center Supervisor monitors inventory levels to ensure sufficient levels to fulfill all orders. Balances workloads as needed to achieve production and delivery goals for each shift. Additionally, Distribution Center Supervisor utilizes software, data, and analytics to optimize operations, track production metrics, and anticipate and resolve problems. Provides the necessary equipment, tools, and training to staff to ensure safe, secure, and efficient operations. Complies with all OSHA and other regulations, policies, safety procedures, and documentation requirements. Typically requires an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Distribution Center Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Distribution Center Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Oversees the departmental shift activities of the Asset Protection department within a distribution center in accordance with company policies and procedures.
1. Responsible for the supervision of direct reports including staffing, goal setting, training, development, performance assessment, and disciplinary actions.
2. Plans, organizes, and distributes work assignments to direct reports.
3. Ensures distribution center level compliance with key company standards of safety, facility maintenance, postings and notifications.
4. Proactively establishes and carries out shrinkage and safety control disciplines/programs and accepts high level of responsibility for distribution center’s shrinkage/safety performance.
5. Oversees and conducts safety, security and procedural incident investigations and audits; ensures accuracy of required documentation and makes recommendations to departmental managers for resolution.
6. Ensures compliance with C-TPAT regulations and procedures and trains all key associates in proper compliance in their areas of responsibility.
7. Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of daily and weekly KRONOS payroll for assigned associates.
8. Schedules direct reports for certification and/or recertification in First aid, CPR and operation of an Automated Electronic Defibrillator (AED).
9. Assists with providing safety and OSHA-required annual training initiatives to direct reports and distribution center operations.
10. Conducts post-accident drug and alcohol screenings when Health Services representatives are unavailable.
11. Assists with investigations related to dishonesty and violations of company policy as directed.
