Distribution Clerk performs a variety of clerical, customer service, and administrative duties to support operations of a distribution center. Monitors inventory levels to ensure sufficient levels are available to fulfill all orders. Being a Distribution Clerk ensures that all required paperwork, including labels, packing lists, and transport instructions, is prepared. Utilizes tracking systems to input or look up information. Additionally, Distribution Clerk complies with all OSHA and other regulations, policies, safety procedures, and documentation requirements. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Distribution Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     Qualifications:

    • Experience dispatching in a warehouse setting with deliveries to job sites, preferably in the building products industry.
    • High level of familiarity of the area and have the ability to route safely and effectively.
    • Intermediate computer skills to enter sales orders and cash transactions into company software.
    • Assist warehouse personnel in loading and unloading trucks using forklift.
    • Be reliable, safe and a team player.
    • High School degree or GED. College courses are a plus.
    • Bilingual English and Spanish a plus.

    • Have a valid driver's license, satisfactory driving record, and reliable transportation to and from work.
    • Authorized to work for any employer in the US without sponsorship for any length of time.

    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Customer Service
    • Handles incoming customer complaints in a prompt and courteous manner; owns the problem until resolved, including the direction of delivery and warehouse personnel.
    • Provide excellent customer service using professional communication skills.
    • Inventory and Management Operations
    • Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse to ensure that work orders are pulled in a timely and accurate manner.
    • Oversee that orders are loaded and unloaded for the vendor or customer promptly.
    • Oversee the dispatching of trucks for timely and accurate delivery of product to worksites.
    • Assist or directs warehouse personnel in loading and unloading trucks using forklift.
    • Tracks and reports on stock levels using the Agility software/computer system.
    • Coordinates purchases of materials for re-sale through the Branch Manager to ensure duplicate orders are avoided.
    • Manage the inventory
    • Responsible for managing all phases of inventory control to include purchasing, weekly cycle counts, pricing, review and disposition of damaged and outdated stock.
    • All Other Duties
    • Other duties include order processing, day-end balancing, and assisting with all other areas of running the branch.

    Education and/or Experience

    One to two years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
