JOB OBJECTIVES (Purpose of the position):
Must be able to understand the work flow of the selection/shipping/receiving process and lead the team to execute the department goals. Analyze and react according to selection/shipping/receiving demands in order to ensure customer service. Assign work to and instruct employees on proper selection/shipping/receiving processes and procedures. Monitor customer orders to ship in a timely manner. Prepare and maintain varied forms of documentation. Analyze distribution inventory procedures and processes. Review inventory, shipping and receiving discrepancies; research and analyze cause, generate and govern prevention. Ensure all employees are working in safe conditions. Plans and coordinates work, trains and motivates, monitors and evaluates performance of distribution associates; ensures their ability to safely operate material handling equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Functions essential to attaining job objectives):
1. Make decisions based off individual customer requirements.
2. Provide assistance and provide clear communication with others within, and outside of MD Building Products.
3. Have a working knowledge of all distribution policies, procedures and warehouse management systems with analytical ability to resolve selection, shipping, receiving and finished goods inventory issues.
4. Lead project teams to help maintain inventory, receiving and shipping accuracy.
5. Manage customer orders with the ability to pair up same store shipments.
6. Responsible for customer pickup shipments and arrange pickup schedule with customers.
7. Must be able to interact with employees in a professional manner at all times.
8. Facilitate intercompany transfers utilizing Oracle for MD branch trucks.
9. Create/simplify all tracking information procedures.
10. Facilitate picking and packing orders utilizing Oracle.
11. Facilitate filing freight claims for both FG and RM.
12. Ensure all safety requirements are being followed.
13. Counsel team members on superior performance or disciplinary issues.
