Distribution Manager manages and deploys the operational strategy, business processes, and systems for overall distribution operations, including order fulfillment, warehousing, inventory management, and transportation. Communicates and monitors production measurement metrics and sets performance targets at the team and individual level for all distribution-related functions that align with company objectives and are within regulatory guidelines. Being a Distribution Manager utilizes data-driven analytical tools and systems to continuously monitor operations, identify inefficiencies, and develop optimization strategies. Troubleshoots and resolves escalated operational issues. Additionally, Distribution Manager ensures all operations adhere to industry safety protocols and comply with OSHA, DOT, or other governmental regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Distribution Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Distribution Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • Hood Distribution, is looking for a dynamic Assistant Branch Manager at its Apopka, FL location. Hood Distribution is a market leader in the distribution of building products whose customers include building product retailers, cabinet shops, millwork houses, and similar businesses.

    Key Responsibilities Include:

    • Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the branch, establishing consistent processes, standards, and expectations for the branch to ensure ongoing performance within company, regulatory, and legal requirements.
    • Assist in monitoring the financial performance and overall profitability of the branch.
    • Ensure that inventory is received, handled, stored and delivered as to minimize damage or any other loss.
    • Follow up on quality or specification issues brought by employees or customers.
    • Identify and pursue opportunities to grow sales by developing new customers, and/or broadening product line penetration to existing customers.
    • Consistently reinforce a commitment to customer-focus toward both internal and external customers.
    • Ensure continuous training and coaching for all branch personnel to maintain a productive and safe working environment.
    • Display the highest level of ethical behavior and respect for others.

    Requirements Include:

    • College degree in a business related field or equivalent experience;
    • Detail oriented with strong organizational and time management skills;
    • P&L experience with aspect to managing sales and operations;
    • Self-motivated/driven individual that has a can-do attitude to handle any customer or employee situation that may arise;
    • Sales-driven, compelling manager who can seize new business and have the skills and leadership to maintain current business;
    • A minimum of 5 years of operations or sales experience;
    • A minimum of 2 years experience in a management capacity;
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills to include the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers;
    • Computer (Excel, Word, & Outlook) and IT system literate.
