SUMMARY
This position is an entry level position responsible for the recording, processing, auditing and reconciliation of accounts payable financial data for the Clerk of the Circuit Court.
Must be able to work independently with a strong emphasis on providing excellent communication and customer service to both the Clerk staff and vendors.
Accounts Payable experience preferred.
Creates payments for supporting documents. Processes check run.
Track monies collected by the Clerk's office through Recording and Tax Deeds. Receives and receipts daily transfers and ACH Bank Debits and Credits.
Prepares weekly and monthly journal entries. Prepares reports for various accounts and other entities.
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two (2) years clerical and / or bookkeeping experience preferred with emphasis on accounts payable / contracts and / or billing collection systems.
Governmental experience also preferred. Experience in a computerized financial data system environment preferred with specific knowledge of Excel applications.
Ability to maintain confidentiality. Excellent computational skills, proficiency with 10-key calculator and accurate typing / keyboard skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write and email simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Accountability - Although the majority of employee's output is verified or reviewed by senior finance personnel, an error or loss could be damaging.
