Who We are Looking for: American Crafts is looking to hire an experienced controller to undertake all aspects of financial management, including accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. To learn more please go to https://www.americancrafts.com/careers/ Job Duties: - Manage all accounting operations including A/R, A/P, Inventory, Payroll, and Revenue Recognition, and various special analyses.
- Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
- Prepare and publish monthly financial statements.
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Coordination activities of external auditors
- Managing, training and retaining skilled accounting staff
- Conducting account reconciliations and analysis
- Assisting in special projects whenever asked
Job Requirements: - Proven work experience as a controller
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience with creating financial statements.
- Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close process
- Good interpersonal skills; excellent written and verbal skills.
- Exemplary work ethic, integrity and reliability are a MUST.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Comfortable in fast paced environment.
- Team player who works productively with a wide range of people.
- Problem solving and analytical ability.
Education/Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field (required)
- Advanced degree in accounting (preferred)
- Excellent computer skills
- CPA (preferred)

Experience: - The ideal candidate has 7 years of relevant experience.
- Public accounting experience is a plus.
- Experience with Sage100 (preferred)
