About this Role
The Controller oversees the accounting for Brink Constructors Group by providing overall direction for and management of the Accounting function of the companies in the group. Controller supports the Chief Financial Officer in responding to any Executive Management requests.
Pay: This is an exempt/salary position. The pay range is $140,000 - $160,000.
Location: This position is located in Rapid City, South Dakota.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain proper accounting controls, procedures, and techniques to ensure that financial transactions are processed accurately and timely and follow SOX compliance.
- Assist in hiring, training and directing accounting staff to ensure that required accounting tasks are handled competently and performed consistently according to company policy and procedures.
- Produce monthly financial reporting package and supporting schedules that are accurate and timely, both for internal use and corporate reporting.
- Ensure that the checklist is followed and signed off on and that all supporting account analysis and bank reconciliations are completed.
- Maintain orderly files of required analysis and documentation consistent with external/internal audit requirements and department standards.
- Maintain strong internal controls relating to data security and integrity.
- Coordinate with all departments to meet Corporate closing schedule deadlines.
- Ensure that Corporate procedures are followed for proper accounting of fixed assets including periodic verification of assets owned, accurate depreciation schedules, and costing of equipment costs to projects accurately and timely.
- Assist CFO with developing annual home office overhead budget and quarterly updates
- Provide monthly reporting to company management and budgeted versus actual expenditures.
- Supervises employees performing financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, and budgeting duties.
- Provide leadership of staff to develop high levels of performance and team engagement while delivering quality results in established timelines.
- Special Projects as assigned by CFO or other management
- Adheres to internal standards, policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Bring
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 8 years of hands-on accounting managerial experience.
