Documentation Clerk is responsible for clerical duties related to the maintenance of technical documentation. Completes tracking, logging, updating and version control of technical documents according to business standards. Being a Documentation Clerk requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Documentation Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. The Documentation Specialist gathers, analyzes, and composes technical information. This individual is responsible for performing the following tasks:
1. Conducting research and ensuring the use of proper technical terminology;
2. Translating technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and nontechnical personnel;
3. Using the standard help compiler to prepare all on-line documentation (for applications built to run in a Windows environment).
Education: This position requires an Associate’s Degree in a related field.
General Experience: The proposed candidate must have at least four (4) years of experience in technical writing and documentation experience pertaining to all aspects of IT.
Specialized Experience: The proposed candidate must have at least two (2) years of experience in preparing technical documentation including researching for applicable standards.
