JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Energy & Environment Cabinet is seeking a Business Analyst to join a team dedicated to documenting the current functionality of existing legacy eForms, entering tasks into our document management system (JIRA), assisting in the testing of the eForms, and working with agencies during their testing and documentation phases. This role demands excellent communication skills for regular meetings with agency staff, who may not have a technical background. Experience in gathering software requirements and completing necessary documentation is essential.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Documentation of Legacy Systems: Experience in documenting current functionalities of existing legacy systems, particularly eForms. Understanding how to capture and describe complex system functionalities in clear, accessible language.
- Proficiency in JIRA or Similar Document Management Systems: Demonstrated experience with JIRA or similar document management systems for task management. Familiarity with entering, tracking, and managing tasks within a project management context.
- eForms Testing Assistance: Experience in assisting with the testing of electronic forms (eForms), including planning, execution, and reporting of test results. Capability to work closely with development teams and stakeholders during the testing phase.
- Strong background in collaborating with various agencies or non-technical stakeholders. This includes the ability to translate technical jargon into plain language and to gather feedback effectively.
- Software Requirements Gathering: Proven experience in gathering software requirements, including conducting interviews, hosting workshops, and creating detailed documentation of system requirements.
- Documentation Skills: Excellent documentation skills, with the ability to create clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Communication Skills: Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders of varying technical backgrounds. This includes both verbal and written communication.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills, with the ability to understand complex information, identify key issues, and solve problems effectively.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to new technologies and methodologies, and to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Project Management Skills: Understanding of basic project management principles and practices, including time management and the ability to meet deadlines.
