Documentation Supervisor coordinates the production of functional, configuration, and user interface documentation for computer software and hardware products. Collaborates with technical teams to prepare accurate content. Being a Documentation Supervisor reviews edits and approves the final content. Ensures that standardized documentation methods and tools are deployed and that required document control procedures are employed. Additionally, Documentation Supervisor monitors project deliverables and timelines to ensure on-time delivery of release notes, manuals, and online content. Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Documentation Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Responsibilities
The Site Documentation Controller is responsible, under direction of the Site Manager, for all handling of documentation on site. The Site Documentation Controller is responsible for handling of all documents and Engineering Base on site except for PCD, cable lists and connection tables during the commissioning period when the Electrical Plant Designer is located at site.
Site Documentation Controller shall understand the different types of documentation used at a construction site e.g., civil construction, installation, commissioning and system descriptions.
Regarding the management of site documentation, the responsibilities of the Site Documentation Controller include
but are not limited to:
– Receiving/returning all documents to/from the site.
– Organize the binders at site.
– Check the accuracy of the binders when they are received at site.
– Mark and stamp the documentation for its use if not done at home office.
– Print and update installation binders when revisions are received
– Keep a record of signed transmittals (received by contractor).
– Hand out documentation to:
– Stamp copies handed out and mark that they are checked out and shall be returned to Site Documentation Controller after use.
– Mark the Site Master documents that a copy has been checked out.
– Mark the documents as checked in at their return
– Gather and file red-changes and send the site master back to the Plant Document Controller.
– Hand out necessary documents for implementing of revision / change orders and sign-off when implemented.
– Keep track of all documentation changes, revisions and change orders and sign-off when implemented.
– Secure handling and storage of Site Master
