Renovation Design Group is a well-established small firm which focuses on residential design with an emphasis on remodeling projects. The Drafter is responsible for measuring existing homes and building 3D as-built models, researching zoning, & executing construction documents under the direction of an Architect. We are seeking individuals who are proficient with Bim software, self-directed, motivated, & knowledgable about creating a permit set of construction documents. The Drafter will work alongside architects and other drafters to provide a superior client experience.

Education & Experience

• Associates Degree preferred
• 5 years related experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Go on site with another drafter to measure existing homes using a laser measurer and a laptop
• Input information gathered on site to create accurate as-built 3D models
• Research zoning and prepare accurate reports
• Perform all tasks within average time allotted
• Maintain productivity rate of at least 75%
• Under the direction of the architect, help execute construction documents by making redline corrections, creating detail drawings, etc.

Skills

• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
• Demonstrate and undestanding of constraints imposed by building codes and city ordinances
• Use AutoCAD & BIM software* to produce accurate, well-coordinated as-built models in accordance with office standards
• Use AutoCAD & BIM software* to update models to create construction drawings based on redlines from architects

* Renovation Design Group uses ArchiCAD BIM software, but will consider people that have work experience using other BIM software.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
