Drafting Supervisor supervises a team within an organization's computer-aided design (CAD) department. Plans, assigns, and reviews the work of drafters and other employees working on design projects. Being a Drafting Supervisor ensures deadlines, goals, and production standards for the department are met. Analyzes data and reviews drawings/plans to ensure quality of work and project feasibility. Additionally, Drafting Supervisor reviews project results and makes recommendations for improvement. Provides CAD technical support and develops solutions. Uses knowledge of the field to keep the department's software, techniques, and tools up to date. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Drafting Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Position Summary:
As Lead Architectural Drafter, you will report directly to the owner and be responsible for all aspects of the project, from the initial project scope to the completion of drawings for permit and consturction. A strong attention to detail and excellent customer communication skills are a must.You will be joining our industry-leading design firm's Architectural Drafting team and creating custom construction plan “blueprints” for new homes, renovation/remodels, and addition projects. You will have the opportunity to work directly with our clients and builders, communicating through email, phone, and in-person meetings. Creating detailed 3D renderings and assisting clients with VR (Virtual Reality) walkthroughs is another thrilling part of your day.
