Drilling Engineer is responsible for the design and implementation of oil and gas wells. Performs design evaluations and recommends alterations to improve safety, costs, and efficiency. Being a Drilling Engineer may conduct risk assessment and cost estimation. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Additionally, Drilling Engineer is familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field. Typically reports to supervisor or manager. Geotechnical Driller Assistant :
We are seeking a Drilling Assistant to provide support to the crew chief in solid stem and hollow stem auger drilling techniques. The drilling assistant will be responsible for moving, set up and operate drilling rigs and related equipment to drill holes for geotechnical exploration test boring. Site investigation/geotechnical drilling is done to determine the soil characteristics on construction sites.
Duties:
- Communicate job site conditions with engineering staff.
- Assure that all drilling functions, including quality control, quality assurance and verification are performed in accordance with the standard drilling methods, project specifications, and other contract documents.
- Perform shop/yard duties under the direction of the supervisor.
- Retrieve/recover soil samples from drilling operations to be analyzed.
- Assist with well development, infiltration setup/tests, field resistivity tests, as necessary.
- Operate equipment such as pumps for air, water and mud, and equipment and tools used to correct problems in drilled holes caused by mechanical breakdowns
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
