Drilling Operations Director directs and oversees the drilling, production, and engineering operations for an organization. Oversees all aspects of planning and executing drilling projects, developing oil and gas fields, and analyzing reserves. Being a Drilling Operations Director is responsible for directing revisions or enhancements to troubleshoot and solve drilling problems. May coordinate drilling contractors and production managers/superintendents. Additionally, Drilling Operations Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a top management. The Drilling Operations Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.       PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The Director of Operations provides accounting, budgeting, and technical support to Building Services and Capital Projects Group to ensure the effective functioning of the Operations Departments; provide accurate monthly reports as relates to renovations and constructions; develop and monitor department budgets; and supervise Operations Coordinators.

      SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Operations Coordinator (Utilities & Grants), Operations Coordinator (Rentals & Accounting), and OP3 (switchboard)

      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.       • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
      • Maintains a sound plan of departmental organization, establishing procedures to ensure successful personnel development and appropriate personnel succession.
      • Establishes operating procedures consistent with the Superintendent and Board of Education's policies and objectives; ensures the execution of these policies and objectives
      • Responsible for data analysis and guidance on zone and allocations for student seating assignments.
      • Works with Chief Operations Officer in the development and input of Operations Departments budgets. (Building Services, Capital Projects, and Operations (6 funding sources)
      • Monitors budget allocations and expenditures. Works with Budget and Finance Departments regarding any accounting adjustments or discrepancies.
      • Analyze data and prepare appropriate management reports including expenditures, backlogs, weekly and monthly status reports, and completed projects.
      • Assist with development of bid specifications for Facilities Department.
      • Work with Legal Department regarding any information required for FIOA request, contracts, etc.
      • Verification of all requests for payments as relates to construction AIA contracts.
      • Responsible for monitors district vehicles per Board regulation and policies.
      • Oversee the rental of facilities that are subject to Board policies.
      • Read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings, sketches, material lists, specifications, and job requests.

      QUALIFICATIONS:
      This position requires substantial specific knowledge and skills relating to the duties and responsibilities identified.

      KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
      Degree in related field or more than ten years of supervisory experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

      WORKING CONDITIONS:
      Moderate in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel. Intermittent prolonged and irregular hours of work.
