This role is non-supervisory.
Job Description:
This individual will be able to provide services to adults and adolescents which includes conducting face-to-face and electronic assessments, establishing diagnoses, assisting clients in making treatment planning, and assisting with referrals to behavioral health intervention services providers (if needed). Provides substance use disorder, co-occurring, trauma and personal growth-related therapy services to assigned clients and their families. Applies advanced psychosocial theory and methods to individuals as well as families and groups with appropriate regard for the complexity of given problems.
This individual will have strong communication skills and deem collaboration and communication with all professionals and referral sources as an important part of client care. The individual must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: cause and effect of drugs and alcohol, trauma-responsive services, crisis counseling, family dynamics, and cultural competence. Must treat our customers with the utmost respect and compassion.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
- CADC PREFERRED
- Competency with computer programs such as word, excel, and Adobe and Electronic Medical Records.
- Must be professional with computers, typing and email.
- Have the ability to generate evaluations and paperwork in a timely fashion and provide reports to various agencies and individuals.
- Maintain confidentiality
- Possess unrestricted driver's license and be willing to travel if needed.
- Maintain the highest degree of ethical integrity.
- Degree in a human services-related discipline required and CADC preferred or must meet CADC certification within one year of hire.
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 60 days of hire.
- Must be accepting of working in an office that welcomes emotional support animals.
- Must be dedicated to teamwork and be able to communicate effectively and respectfully in a professional environment.
- Must exude compassion and empathy for others and behave in a trauma-informed fashion.
- Must be able to work efficiently and independently
- Working knowledge of office equipment
- Organizational and time management skills
- Analytical abilities and aptitude in problem-solving
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Culturally sensitive
- Be able to fluently read and write English.
- Must adhere to the Iowa Regulations for Substance Use Treatment and guidelines set forth for CADC professionals from the Iowa Board of Certification.
- Must maintain proper background check clearance
- Must be able to understand and abide by HIPAA and CFR42 Privacy Laws.
- Must be able to communicate professionally and be reliable.
- Must be able to travel if needed in own vehicle.
- Must be able to understand addiction and mental health terminology and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and counselors.
- Must be able to conduct themselves in an ethical manner
- Must be self-motivated and willing to learn and grow .
