Merchandising Services Specialist

  • SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
    This position is responsible for providing support to our customer stores which includes (but is not limited to) customer support, coordination of store front programs and services, sales coordination, promotional data input and data analysis.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Promote the company's programs and services to enhance the pharmacy’s business
    • Maintain a close relationship and provide communication with the Marketing, Sales, Purchasing, and other teams to facilitate the needs of customers to achieve optimum customer satisfaction
    • Provide communications support between the customer and company
    • Stay current with company products and specialty items, services, and operations
    • Understand the pharmacy retail environment in order to be able to put the right product in the right place at the right price to enhance the profitability of the pharmacy
    • Be a key contributor of organizing all merchandising programs and services and ensuring all deadlines and obstacles are met and dealt with effectively and professionally

    SPECIFIC WORK TASKS:

    • Reset Front End OTC Displays for existing customers from a selection of over 10,000 products
    • Label and arrange the Front End Displays of Over the Counter (OTC) for new customers
    • Maintain a 4 to 6-week customer visit cycle to keep customers informed of new or modified retail programs, special product information, new promotions, and sales strategies to improve front end sales

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • High School Diploma and 2-3 years’ experience in Merchandising/Marketing in a retail environment preferred but not required
    • Ability to travel 5 days a week throughout NC, SC, WV, and Virginia (5 to 10 overnight stays per month)
    • Valid Driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle with current auto insurance (mileage paid at the IRS rate/pay for AAA membership)
    • Basic financial and analytical skills a plus
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills
    • Positive attitude and high energy
    • Basic Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access)
    • Must be flexible and able to work as a team member and independently
    • Effective and professional communication (verbal & written)
