Drywall Installer plans, installs, and repairs drywalls to cover walls, ceilings, soffits, shafts, and movable partitions in residential and commercial areas. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being a Drywall Installer may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Drywall Installer relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Responsibilities:
- Perform various construction tasks as directed by the supervisor
- Assist with the installation of drywall, metal studs, and acoustical ceilings, including measuring, cutting, and laying materials
- Utilize power tools and hand tools to complete construction projects
- Assist with frame carpentry, including building and assembling structures
- Hang doors and install hardware
- Operate heavy equipment as needed for construction projects
Skills:
- Experience in frame carpentry, drywall, finishing, door hanging, and heavy equipment operation
- Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks in various weather conditions
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work well in a team
