EDP Audit Manager manages the auditing of data processing systems and operating procedures in accordance with established corporate standards for efficiency, accuracy, and security. Determines and recommends improvements in current standards and the implementation of system changes. Being an EDP Audit Manager develops organizational audit programs to continuously maintain the effectiveness of data processing operations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, EDP Audit Manager typically reports to top management. The EDP Audit Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.     • Find solutions. You are the client’s advisor and as such you own the matter you are working on. Sometimes you will have the answer. Sometimes you will have to research it. Other times you will need to seek guidance from other people in the firm. Your role is to make sure the client has the answer they need.
    • Continually learn and become a subject matter expert in your area(s) of interest.
    • Plan, schedule, execute, and lead all aspects of assurance engagements. 
    • Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, fraud, or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies.
    • Provide risk assessments and recommend controls; assist with the preparation of financial statements, management letters, and detailed reports on audit findings.
    • Build and expand relationships with clients and community contacts to contribute to the overall marking efforts of the firm. 
    • Foster teamwork, innovative thinking, and share knowledge within and amongst our team.
    • You will play a key role in the firm’s commercial practice, working directly with directors in the Lexington office and throughout the firm to serve clients and pursuing strategic objectives.  

    The expectation is that this position will be in office or hybrid within our Lexington, Kentucky office.  However, we will consider remote candidates, with a preference for individuals who are located within the Blue & Co. footprint (Kentucky, central / southern Indiana, and central / southern Ohio).

    Here are the qualifications you should bring to the table:

    • A genuine interest in helping clients and coworkers. 
    • Five years or more of assurance experience with a public accounting firm, including involvement in review and audit engagements. 
    • Experience with manufacturing and/or construction entities a plus.
    • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • CPA license required. 
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills; demonstrate a high level of technical competence.
    • High proficiency with Microsoft Office products / applications.
    • Ability to travel locally and occasional overnight travel (averages no more than four weeks per year).
