    provide IT and Student Information leadership across a broad range of hardware and software needs.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Associate Director of Technology and Student Information provides IT and Student Information leadership and support to Envision Schools, Envision Learning Partners, and the network support office across a broad range of hardware and software needs. They partner with site teams to oversee ongoing IT and SIS operations at all schools by ensuring implementation and maintenance of clear systems, policies, and procedures that allow all staff to focus on student outcomes. In addition to the key responsibilities outlined below, the  Associate Director effectively prioritizes multiple demands; works collaboratively in a hands-on, fast-paced environment; and regularly uses strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills to exceed performance expectations. The Associate Director supervises site-based technology staff and a network Data Manager; interacts with a variety of internal and external stakeholders; and participates in organization-wide leadership team meetings. They are supervised by the Senior Director of Operations.


    Technology Management and Strategy

    • Manages mission-critical systems and technology platforms, including networking infrastructure, security, hardware, and software to ensure performance against metrics and budget.
    • Oversees technology support functions for staff and student users across the network.
    • Collaborates with site-based and network leaders to evaluate proposed technological solutions to address major instructional priorities.
    • Develops and maintains policy and procedures for the purchase and maintenance of network devices and software subscriptions and licenses.
    • Develops and maintains policy and procedures in compliance with CIPA, FERPA, cybersecurity best practices, and all state and federal laws and policies as they apply to technology in public schools.
    • Manages networking-based office systems (e.g., phones and copiers) systems with contracted vendors.
    • Maintains network participation in programs for reduced-cost technology and infrastructure.
    • Partners with the Senior Director of Operations to regularly update long-term technology strategy and create new policies and procedures as needed.
     

    Student Information System Management and Strategy

    • Oversees the strategy, architecture and day-to-day operations of the PowerSchool Student Information System (SIS) for Envision Education, in collaboration with Data Manager and school-site partners.
    • Trains support office and school-site partners to utilize the SIS and other supporting data systems and applications, including entry and common data routines.
    • Oversees school- and district-level data for integrity and consistency;  prepare student data for local, state, and federal reporting.
    • Collaborates with the Director of Analysis and Assessments on state and federal reporting.
     

    Team Leadership

    • Manages the team members towards the implementation of goals, including encouraging the team to seek and share diverse perspectives to inform decision-making and planning.
    • Establishes department-level performance expectations; ensures team members set performance goals and strive for continuous improvement.
    • Delegates work effectively and holds team members accountable for completing work accurately, efficiently, and on time.
    • Evaluates the performance of team members and provides needs-based coaching, including modeling effective issue-resolution and communication with Envision staff across the network.
    • Hires, on-boards, and trains new team members.
     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 5 years of experience, some supervisory experience desired.
    • BA or BS preferred, may be substituted for experience.
    • Organizational technology experience required, ideally within the educational sector.
    • Demonstrated success working with parents and families, especially Black, African American, Latino/a/x, and immigrant families.
    • Unfaltering belief that all students have potential for academic success regardless of disability

    • Commitment to anti-racist and pro-Black ideologies in the workplace.
    • Receptiveness to feedback and desire to continuously improve to meet outcomes.

    Physical Demands:

    • This position requires the employee to be able to complete the following physical tasks.
      • The ability to move, transport and position boxes and other heavy objects up to 60lbs.
      • The ability to ascend and work atop ladders and in high spaces
      • The ability to spend long amounts of time using a computer, sitting, and standing.
    • Envision Education may assign or reassign additional responsibilities requiring physical duties as needed.



    LOCATION
    This position is onsite and requires travel between our Support Office and 3 campuses located in San Francisco, Hayward, and Oakland


    COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

    The salary range for this role is between $95,000-$110,000 for the 2024-2025 school year and is dependent upon years of aligned experience and credentials.
