EEG Technician performs electroencephalograms in accordance with established practices and procedures. Attaches electrodes to the patient. Being an EEG Technician records impulse frequencies and differences in electrical potential between various areas of the brain to obtain data for use in the diagnosis of brain disorders. Provides preliminary diagnostic evaluation and notifies neurologist of results of examinations. Additionally, EEG Technician consults with neurologist to establish requirements for non-standard examinations and determines technical factors to satisfy requirements. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The EEG Technician works under moderate supervision. Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable EEG Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing electroencephalogram (EEG) tests that help diagnose neurological conditions. This role requires hands on experience as well as the ability to provide compassionate care to patients in children of 0-21 years of age. The position will start as a part time position and can become a full time position in the future.
Duties
- Conduct EEG tests by placing electrodes on patients' scalps and monitoring brain activity.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort.
- Record and analyze EEG data to assist in diagnostic evaluations.
