We are a brand-new square foot distribution facility in Ellabell, Georgia. We are looking for experienced, people-oriented leaders to join our team and contribute to the start-up of the operation.

BASIC OVERVIEW

The Weekend Forklift Equipment Trainer provides instruction, delivers equipment certification, and manages the tracking & documentation for all employees required to operate equipment within the distribution center.

As a secondary focus to the role, the trainer will be assigned various safety related audits and tasks. Qualified candidates should possess previous experience operating equipment, have a knowledge of equipment & its features, and be familiar with a warehouse environment.

They also conform to all safety related processes & policies. Successful candidates view themselves as an extension of the leadership team, and they are able to adapt to and communicate effectively with all departments and managers, using both verbal and written skills.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Facilitates operational training and certification for powered equipment that includes both classroom and operational learning, as detailed by company policies for each equipment application
• Documents and maintains accurate records (both physical and digital) of all training materials in relation to training and certification for all employees
• Communicates with department and shift managers to schedule powered equipment training / recertification classes on demand
• Safely operates and maintains warehouse equipment to ensure a safe work environment
• Abides by all forklift safety training (must go through training and certification)
• Coaches and trains employees on safety and best practices of our business
• Communicates any issues and reports any accidents to supervisor immediately
• Conducts safety audits, fire extinguisher inspections, eye wash inspection, maintaining first aid cabinets
• Performs other duties and tasks not listed as requested by the safety manager

• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical and complex concepts in a simple and concise way to ensure ease of understanding
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to quickly adapt as business needs change
• Ability to address difficult situations with diplomacy and emotional intelligence
• Customer service-oriented attitude with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations
• Proficiency with MS Office required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

YOU MUST BE ABLE TO MEET THE FOLLOWING BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Work is performed while standing and / or walking, up to and including 8- hours / day depending on shift
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing
• Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
• Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching
• Requires the ability to regularly lift / carry -lbs. and push / pull up to lbs.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a distribution environment; receiving and / or inventory experience preferred
• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Occasional activities may involve exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.

SHIFT SCHEDULE

• Starting wage is (which includes a shift differential) and a potential of up to in raises every 6 months
