ROLE: Safety Specialist
COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field (minimum)
- 1-2 Years' Experience in General Industry Safety
- Ability to gain industry specific certifications over time (e.g., CSP, CHMM, etc.)
ESSENTIAL QUALITIES/SKILLS:
- Highly analytical and organized
- Ability to learn and work independently
DESCRIPTION: The Safety Specialist is generally responsible for:
- performing Occupation Safety and Health inspections at various government facilities;
- generating reports in a timely and accurate manner; and
- performing other related duties as assigned.
TRAVEL: 25-50%
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record
- Willingness to travel by air and ground (as required)
- Not eligible for employment sponsorship
- Capable of spending long days on your feet for hours at a time (field work)
- Ability to walk a multi-level, multi-building facility campus with limited breaks (field work)
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
- Capable of sitting at a desk and using a computer for long periods of time (report generation)
