  • Summary of Position:

    The role of the EHS Auditor entails delivering leadership and support in environmental, health, and safety compliance to Civitas management and staff across the diverse facilities within Company operating groups. Responsibilities include conducting audits of facilities to assess regulatory compliance performance, reporting findings to management as required, collaborating with operations and EHS management to communicate best practices, enhance regulatory compliance, and designing and implementing a comprehensive compliance assurance program aligned with relevant laws, company policies, and procedures.

     

    Primary Job Responsibilities:

    • Lead the Audit Team and coordinate efforts to plan and execute the audit schedule and report findings for the Company facilities and Programs.
    • Implement continuous improvement or preventive action plans to resolve non-conformities within EHS MS.
    • Facilitate external audits of facilities; review written audit reports for submittal to management.
    • Oversee effectiveness of regulatory compliance initiatives by conducting comprehensive audits for the Company including EHS Programs, PSM Facilities and Contractors to verify compliance issues are fully communicated and understood.
    • Prepare audit reports and maintain supporting documentation in accordance with professional standards guidance and company policy. 
    • Recommend corrective actions and responsible personnel based upon audit findings.
    • Establish and maintain effective relationships with regulatory agencies, ensuring open communication and collaboration.

    Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

    • Expert understanding of environmental, health, and safety regulations in the United States (e.g. EPA, RCRA, SARA/CERCLA, OSHA, CWA).
    • Strong understanding of EHS management systems and risk assessment methodologies.
    • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulations.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships and delivering training programs.
    • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in documentation and reporting.
    • Proficiency in using EHS management software and tools. 

    Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Technical or Physical Science or related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in EHS, regulatory compliance.
    • 2-5 years of EHS Auditing, Risk Assessment or management in Oil & Gas industry preferred.
    • CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager), CEA (Certified Environmental Auditor), CSP (Certified Safety Professional) and/or OSHA certifications desirable.
    • Proven track record of conducting comprehensive EHS audits and implementing corrective actions.
    • Experience collaborating with regulatory agencies and managing compliance requirements.

    Travel Requirements:

    • Work is performed at a CIVI location Tues-Thurs with an option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
    • Schedule: traditional 40-hour workweek or alternative schedule of 9 hour works days M-Thurs and 4-hour workdays Friday.
    • Travel required to the Civitas field locations.
