We are now hiring an experienced Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Technician to actively support organizational compliance to include OSHA, State, and local manufacturing regulations.

What you'll do

• Coordinate and ensure compliance with MAPS safety programs across all operational platforms and sites.
• Provide direction and recommendations to ensure programs and services are in compliance with the highest environmental, health, and safety standards.
• Assist in the review and development of EHS policies, procedures, and best practices to include: ensuring policies and procedures are updated to meet current business needs and requirements with a focus on the environment, health, and safety.
• Conduct hazard, risk analysis and code compliance inspections and audits of the facility and grounds.
• Conduct safety audits to identify work hazards, risks, and exposures.
• Assist with tracking of incidents, exposures and evaluating trends.
• Maintain environmental recordkeeping and the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) program and requirements.
• Build, present and track all safety training and toolbox talks (shift meetings) for Production Employees according to the set training schedule.
• Attend 5-Why Root Cause Analysis discussions post-incident to assist in alleviating repeated incidents.
• Ensure proper storage locations, labeling, use, and disposal of hazardous chemicals is conducted properly.
• Assist with the oversite of wastewater, solid waste management, and hazardous materials safety program.
• Conduct quarterly emergency drills to include (fire, evacuation, tornado, etc.).
• Scheduling site visits with outside vendors and agencies

EHS Technician Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 2 years of experience in an environment, health or safety (EHS) role required
• Safety, Environment, Emergency Management or related degree preferred
• Manufacturing industry experience preferred
• Ability to promote a positive culture and main confidentiality in matters involving security and personnel
• OSHA certification or ability to obtain OSHA certification within 6 months required
• Experience conducting group training and coaching employees
• Excellent communication skills and ability to converse with all level of employees
• Ability to stand, lift, walk, bend and climb stairs for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to lift 45 pounds independantly
• Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities to include confined spaces
