Electric and Gas Operations Superintendent is responsible for managing work crews involved in construction, maintenance, and repair of electric and gas distribution systems.     Job Summary:
    The Operations Superintendent will be accountable for all operations across the site Toledo.
     
    Accountable for:
    - Operating plan.
    - Process speed.
    - IDR.
    - OEE daily statement.
    - Shift coverage - turnarounds, shutdowns.
    - RC dashboard - investigation/closing.
    - MOC.
    - Turnaround planning.
     
    Responsibilities:
    Ensure the safety responsibility for each employee is achieved through proper education, training, and safety rules. In order that employees understand and practice appropriate safety procedures.
    • Manage fixed costs.
    • Direct variable costs.
    • Manage budget.
    • Responsible for implementing progressive disciple plans when warranted.
    • Participate in the PMD review process.
    • Production, critical equipment – bypass.
    • Review and close customer complaints.
    • Support the S & OP process.
    • Work closely with Operations Manager and all Shift Managers on: 
      • Operating procedures.
      • Daily WIP.
      • Maintenance prioritization.
      • Maintenance scheduling.
      • Shift coverage - call-out.
      • Shift coverage - vacation/medical.
      • Shift coverage - planned/scheduled.
      • Scheduled contractor maintenance (Fike, Guardian, Excel).
      • Operating procedures – drills.
      • RC dashboard input.
      • Shift Logs.
      • Permits.
      • Safety training.
    • Reports - Scrubber logs, Reactor log sheets, ECS.
    • Assist with procurement of production equipment and inventory control - SAP.
    • Conduct annual employee performance reviews.
    • Responsible to achieve Operations Superintendent objectives agreed annually.
    • Support and actively participate in the site’s development along the Perstorp careway.
    • Lead by example within the area of responsible care.
    • Comply with the responsible care minimum requirements.
    • Ensure conformance and follow all company policies & procedures and all site health, safety, security, and environmental rules.
    • Actively participate in EHSQ programs (i.e., take care observations, safety training, toolbox talks, incident reporting & investigation and safety walks).     
    • Coach others to participate in health and safety programs and projects and on work processes to promote operational excellence.
    • Perform/support other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management and support other employees as necessary in a team effort.   
    Education and Experience:
    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
    Experience (>3 years) in a supervisory position preferred.
    Experience (>10 years) manufacturing position in a chemical plant or refinery preferred.
    Experience in the operations of Trimethylolpropane, Pentaerythritol, Formaldehyde and Powerhouse.
    Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    SAP knowledge preferred.
    Strong knowledge of batch and continuous chemical manufacturing.
    Process Safety experience (PHA, LOPA, Safety Instrumented Systems) preferred.
    Working knowledge of field operations.

    Strong problem-solving skills and ability to implement process improvement from concept through project completion (project management skills).
    Effectively communicate both orally and through written text.
    Ability to work under minimal supervision and effectively manage multiple/changing priorities.
    Ability to read and understand technical documents including PFDs and P&IDs.
    Ability to mentor, coach, and act as a knowledge resource to other employees.
    Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
    Work Environment: This position operates indoors as well as outdoor set up to 50% of the time in a manufacturing environment and exposed to all weather elements, heat, cold, dirt, dust, vibrations, odors/unpleasant smells, loud noises, and chemicals.
    Routinely uses office equipment such as computers, phones, scanners, and other typical office equipment.  Requires use of electronic mail and ERP systems.
    Routinely in contact with others (face to face, by telephone, computer or otherwise).
     
    Physical Requirements:
    Ability to perform in an active office environment, including the ability to complete paperwork, work on a computer, handle filing and office equipment and change activities frequently. 
    Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer.
    Maintain a stationary position (sit, stand), walk, move, bend, stoop, kneel or crouch, climb or balance, and maneuver stairs, ladders, and machinery. Use of hands to finger and reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time.
    Ability to work at heights.
    Mobility is required to access all areas on-site and navigate/operate in close quarters, small rooms, narrow aisles, and passageways.
    Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds at times repetitively.
    Ability to use all channels of communication (i.e., read/write/speak/hear).
    Vision sufficient to perform above-described tasks with or without correction.
    Comply and pass site regulations for PPE and clearances (i.e., annual physical, Respirator Fit Test, FRC clothing, etc.).
