We are currently growing! Due to a promotion, we are looking for a like-minded (CV) individual with an entrepreneurial spirit to be on our team in Louisville as Purchasing Agent.

This position will partner with another Purchasing Agent in Lexington and work with our teams to ensure a strong Purchasing department. You’ll work directly with our Project Management team under the guidance of our CFO. The Purchasing Agent is responsible for identifying suppliers, researching goods and services, and processing purchase orders. To be successful you should be able to critically assess suppliers and products, and buy at the best possible total cost. The Purchasing Agent is accountable for maintaining meticulous transaction records and handling vendor/supplier relations.

Purchasing
- Monitors and manages inventory levels and purchase parameters to make sure product is in stock and on time.
- Prepares and processes purchase orders.
- Checks and monitors backorder reports daily. Proactive follow up with vendors on delayed orders, and other backorder related questions.
- Maintain product costs and vendor price changes.
- Schedules inbound inventory deliveries.
- Communicates relevant information across the company (i.e. upcoming price changes, newly available products, newly stocked products, discontinued products, etc.)
Vendor/Supplier Relations
- Maintains standards for the most suitable suppliers in terms of reliability, product quality, support and cost-efficiency.
- Sources new, while building and maintaining good working relationships with existing vendors and suppliers.
- Negotiates with suppliers on price break agreements and other favorable terms.
Additional Responsibilities
- Use an accounting system (ComputerEase) to enter all PO’s.
- Support the project management and field leadership to resolve customer needs.
- Proficiently use Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Rewards & Compensation
- $55,000-$72,000 (based on experience and ability)
- Extremely competitive benefit package (i.e. health insurance is 90% company-paid, single-family coverage)
- Up to 15 days of PTO per year in first year
- Immediate eligibility for Company-observed Holidays (7 per calendar year)
- Although this position does not include the use of a full-time company vehicle or fuel card, there will be a company “floater” vehicle made available for use if you need to travel for company business.

Required Skills/Abilities

Education and Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year purchasing experience, or relevant industry experience.
Physical Requirements
- Work 7:00am – 4:00pm M- F and other times, as required. Anticipate 40-50 hours a week.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Work performed on-site, in the office, Monday through Friday.
- Attend, as appropriate, meetings, trade shows, and conferences to learn of new industry products and trends and make contacts with suppliers.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
