    Position Summary:
    Hybrid or Remote position

    Perform assignments associated with designing electrical equipment, components, structures or systems.

    Required: A minimum of 10 years of technical work experience in the Electrical field in the petrochemical industry.

    Experience based on knowledge, skills, and abilities may qualify with the approval of the Director of Engineering and the Electrical Engineering Manager.

    Responsibilities:
    Prepare complete design packages which may include, but not be limited to, preliminary, conceptual, and construction deliverables as well as engineering

    Prepare detailed drawings of parts and assemblies from layouts, designs and working drawings including necessary projections, sectional views and standard specifications.

    Interpret verbal or written direction to initiate a preliminary

    Perform sizing and load calculations

    Check detailed sketches and drawings for project applicability and optimal

    Check and verify accuracy of drawings prepared by

    Prepare bills of material (BOM) and specifications when drawings are Revise drawings and BOM consistent with engineering changes.

    Implement revisions and change control per company standards at the direction of

    Assemble information and reference drawings from a variety of

    Continually look for product improvements and cost

    Confirm specification and code compliance, equipment compatibility, and optimal cost

    Assist with performing field surveys, documenting existing conditions, and/or recommending various design

    Assist with proposal compilation utilizing computer aided design equipment and/or graphic tools to prepare high-level layouts and

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee may periodically be required to travel to client jobsites, usually petrochemical production facilities, and must have the ability to access all areas as required, including climbing ladders and stairs. Therefore, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions; and the risk of electric shock. The noise level at some industrial jobsites can be loud to moderate depending on location. The Designer is expected to use all precautions and to wear all appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to insure their safety.

    Education Requirements:
    The Designer must have a High School education (or equivalent), with additional basic drafting courses training from a vocational-technical school

    or other applicable program. As an alternative, the Designer must have a minimum of two (2) years of education in an associate or bachelor’s degree program at a university or community college for Electrical discipline.
