Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and modification of all electronic laboratory equipment and electronic control equipment under the control of Worcester Isothermal area. Responsible for meeting military and customer collaboration requirements. Responsible for meeting pyrometry requirements for all Heat Treat and ISO Forge furnaces.
Working Procedure:
· Calibrate and maintain calibration records for auditing by customers to customer specification on all electronic measuring equipment. Also clean and repair as necessary all associated equipment.
· Perform regularly scheduled temperature uniformity surveys, system accuracy tests, and PLC calibrations of furnaces to ensure conformance to government, customer, or Wyman Gordon specifications.
· React to emergency repair as required by production. Most repairs require knowledge of electronic test equipment such as field test instruments and volt-ohm meters.
· Responsibility for the understanding of customer specifications and manufacture specifications. Must be trained in reading and understanding customer requirements and complex manufacturing operating and repair manuals as well as interpret complex blueprints and electronics.
· Maintain database and utilize visual identifiers of when equipment is due for calibration.
· Maintain records of service, types of repairs made, etc. Maintain file of operating instruction manuals. Fill out serialization forms to properly document thermocouple usage.
· Install, repair, and track all inventory of thermocouples.
· Perform other supportive maintenance as directed. May be used as back-up to electronics maintenance department as needed.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must read and interpret electrical blueprints and wiring diagrams especially pertaining to electronics.
· Must know theory of electronic circuits and their various applications.
· Requires electronic school training or relevant experience, knowledge of electricity, ability to read electronic and electrical blueprints and wiring diagrams Uses wide variety of precision measuring instruments.
· Must be able to test circuit and use results to alter equipment performance where necessary set up and operate tracing equipment.
