Senior Staff mmWave/RF Validation Engineer

  • Job Description

    We are seeking a Senior Staff Millimeter-Wave/RF Validation Engineer to play a pivotal role in the development of innovative chipsets for Satellite Communications (Satcom), 5G networks, and radar systems. This critical position involves leading the characterization of state-of-the-art millimeter-wave transceiver front-ends and collaborating closely with the design team to enhance IC performance. The ideal candidate should be a motivated individual with a strong background in RF/mmWave testing and measurement, and possess significant experience in test automation and performance debugging.

    • Conduct comprehensive RF/mmWave testing using sophisticated equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum & signal analyzers, and vector signal generators.
    • Improve and expand existing test automation processes.
    • Analyze, compile, and present test data to the design team for review and action.
    • Manage the development process for evaluation PCBs.

    Collaborate with design and applications teams in debugging activities and providing technical support to customers

    Qualifications

    • A Master’s degree in RF/Microwave Engineering, with a preference for a PhD
    • At least 7 years of hands-on experience with RF test equipment, particularly in the validation and characterization of RFICs.
    • Extensive experience with active circuit blocks of a radio communication system (amplifiers, frequency converters, oscillators, attenuators, phase shifters, etc.) as well as passive and distributed microwave components (such as power dividers, couplers, transmission lines, etc.)
    • A thorough understanding of RF performance metrics such as S-parameters, Noise Figure (NF), P1dB, IP3, IMD, EVM and stability.
    • Proficiency in programming languages such as Matlab and Python.
    • Familiarity with PCB CAD tools.

    Good communication skills and experience in cross-functional teamwork

    Additional Information

    The expected annual pay range for this position is $172000 - $259000. This position is also eligible for bonus opportunities. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
