Elevator Inspector inspects, adjusts, and maintains installed freight and passenger elevators and escalators to meet specifications and safety codes. May recommend repairs. Being an Elevator Inspector requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May be required to be certified in an area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Additionally, Elevator Inspector is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.   • Core Functions :

    • Operate systems required to receive and ship product in a safe and efficient manner
    • Maintain and troubleshoot all equipment within the facility
    • Perform Maintenance activities individually or as part of a team with co-workers
    • Repairing an inspecting electrical and mechanical equipment, operating equipment and using tools
    • Reading and understanding Blueprints, Reading and interpreting drawings
    • Know and follow all safety, environmental, and emergency procedures
    • Complete log sheets, load forms, and other paperwork in a timely and accurate manner
    • Understand shipping and receiving systems and product flow throughout the facility
    • Understand and follow switch engine and rail procedures
    • Understand and follow sample procedures as it relates to shipping the product
    • Demonstrate knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures
    • Demonstrate skill in operating mobile equipment
    • Communicate policies and procedures to others as needed
    • Monitor product levels and assist with monthly inventories
    • Keep work areas and grounds clean at all times
    • Actively participate in all aspects of safety including near miss reporting and meetings
    • This position works indoors and outdoors in extreme temperatures depending on season
    • Works at various heights and enclosed areas

    Skills / Experience Requirements :

    • HS Diploma or Equivalent preferred
    • Background or Experience in the Agricultural Industry desired
    • Skills include : Mechanical and Electrical troubleshooting knowledge of machines and tools including : designs, uses, repair, motor control circuits as well as predictive and preventative maintenance.
    • Problem solving and trouble-shooting equipment failure skills are a must.
    • Good oral and written communication skills.
    • 3-5 Years experience in manufacturing environment
    • Understanding of basic computer functions
    • Good reading and writing skills preferred
    • Ability to take instruction and follow directions required
    • Comfortable working safely at heights and with rail equipment required
    • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions required
    • Strong mechanical skills preferred
    • Proficient in basic computer skills preferred
    • Must have initiative and demonstrate strong customer service skills required
    • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised required
    • Positive attitude required
    • Basic Microsoft software computer skills required
    • Ability to work in confined spaces required
    • Working safely at heights greater than 120’ and / or in aerial mobile equipment required
    • Knowledge in food safety desired
    • Ability to stand for extended periods of time required
    • Ability to work in a dusty environment from time to time required

    Work Schedule : Standard @ 40 hours weekly, with OT hours weekly as needed, occasional additional OT required on weekend depending on season and need
