Being an Elevator Inspector requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May be required to be certified in an area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Additionally, Elevator Inspector is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. PRIMARY FUNCTION: The job of Building Inspector is done for the purpose/s of ensuring that Muscogee County School District Schools and facilities are monitored according to standards of sanitation as required by the Muscogee County School District; overseeing the training and development of Muscogee County School District custodial staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance. |

Attends a variety of meetings (e.g. staff meetings, workshops, etc.) for the purpose of providing support and/or conveying information. |
3. |
Coordinates with a variety of personnel (e.g. maintenance and site personnel, administrators, etc.) for the purpose of completing outstanding work orders. |
4. |
Facilitates scheduled inspections of buildings, systems, and grounds (e.g. physical plant maintenance year round, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring regularly scheduled facility inspections. |
5. |
Inspects and rates a variety of buildings, systems, and grounds on cleanliness, maintenance, upkeep, safety, and health issues (e.g. electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC systems, energy consumption, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring adherence to health codes and established standards of cleanliness and safety. |
6. |
Monitors facilities to ensure that all projects have been completed (e.g. summer maintenance program, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that buildings and grounds are prepared for students. |
7. |
Notifies Supervisor of Operations of any problems discovered during inspections (e.g. over consumption of energy, areas not cleaned, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that problems are corrected and facilities are properly maintained. |
8. |
Oversees training of custodial staff (e.g. required custodial procedures, summer maintenance program, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the buildings in the district are well maintained while meeting local, state, and federal requirements. |
9. |
Performs follow-up inspections (e.g. areas not passing inspection the first time, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that deficiencies have been addressed and corrected. |
10. |
Prepares documentation (e.g. work orders completed, supply orders, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information. |
11. |
Researches a variety of work-related topics (e.g. new equipment on the market; federal and state regulations, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring professional maintenance that is cost effective and efficient. |
12. |
Responds to emergency situations (e.g. fire, personnel accidents, etc.) for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns. |
13. |
Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient, effective functioning of the work unit. |
