Being an Emergency Dispatcher differentiates between routine, priority, and emergency messages, and initiates or follows through on responses as required. Communicates details of situation and location. Additionally, Emergency Dispatcher enters unit response details into a database. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Emergency Dispatcher works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.     • Handle customer complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the time limits; follow up to ensure resolution.
    • Follow communication procedures, guidelines, and policies.
    • Take the extra mile to engage customers.

    Skills:
    • Some experience in dispatching preferred.
    • Proven customer support experience or experience as a client service representative.
    • Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening.
    • Customer orientation and ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
    • High school degree.
