Transmits and receives coded and conventional messages, differentiates between routine, priority, and emergency messages, and initiates or follows through on responses as required. Being an Emergency Dispatcher may enter unit response and data into database. Requires a high school diploma. Additionally, Emergency Dispatcher typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Emergency Dispatcher gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Works under moderate supervision.
