About the Role
As Director of QA, you will lead a team of analysts and engineers who make sure employees can quickly and accurately select benefits and get those benefits to insurance carriers and payroll providers in a timely manner. The analysts are highly knowledgeable about insurance and ensure product definitions and code meet the true needs of the customers. The engineers team up with analysts to scale out that knowledge. You will help guide the QA teams on joining skills to build test systems efficient enough to handle the ever-growing volume of users and the complexities of our increasingly data-driven insurance ecosystem.
Our software development teams are highly collaborative. You will help with evolving that collaboration by helping find friction points and working with peers in other departments to get rid of them. You will help set strategy, but then let the team be creative and find solutions with your guidance. You will help the department with coaching on innovation and better ways to share that knowledge within the team and across other departments.
Due to the people-leadership nature of this role, you will need to come into our Frederick, MD office at least 4 days per week. You'll also need to come to the main office in Bethesda periodically. Travel to other offices is possible since some of the team is distributed – remote and in other company offices.
