About the role
An Employee Relations Representative is a key role within an organization, responsible for maintaining positive, productive, and compliant workplace relationships. Employee Relations Representative should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be knowledgeable in employment law, and have strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. The role also requires a high level of discretion and ethical judgment, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality.
This is a fully ONSITE role supporting operations at our Rockdale, TX facility.
Essential Functions

Serve as point of contact for employee relations conflicts and mitigate dispute resolution procedures in compliance with company procedures including effectively managing all leave of absences, ADA, and Short-Term Disability.

Conduct investigations and assist in ensuring timely resolution of workplace issues.

Assist and coordinate annual performance reviews, career progression planning, and training and development initiatives.

Assist in the development of managers and supervisors in the areas of employment law, performance management and professional development and discipline.

Work in partnership of the Safety Department to assist with workers compensation claims and modified duty orders in coordination with external partners.

Assist with the administration of compensation and stay up to date on compensation standards set by industry and governing bodies.

Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local employment laws and regulations.

Assists with improving employee engagement and satisfaction by identifying and addressing workplace issues that impact morale and productivity.

Manage exit interviews and termination procedures.

Works closely with other HR functions, such as recruitment, new hire orientation, training, and benefits, to ensure a cohesive approach to employee management and to align employee relations strategies with overall HR and organizational goals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of employment law practices including FMLA, ADA, Title VII, ERISA, HIPPA, etc.

Strong experience in employee relations.

Microsoft Office proficient and experience with HRIS systems.

Must have high integrity and maintain trust across the organization at all levels.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Exposure to and familiarity with HR best practices and demonstrate the ability to apply that knowledge in the workplace.

Ability to work independently and execute sound judgment in making decisions.

Ability to work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
Education and Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited institution in Human Resources, Business, or related field is preferred.

PHR or SPHR is a plus.
