Employee Services Manager manages the selection, design, and implementation of employee engagement programs geared to attract and retain employees and promote a healthy and productive work environment. Administers programs focused on work-life, child care, fitness, discounts, remote working, education, training, and others to provide options that engage employees. Being an Employee Services Manager analyzes and assesses program utilization, employee feedback, competitiveness, and workforce productivity to ensure that a cost-effective mix of programs is offered. Reviews and researches complex questions and identifies opportunities to improve employee engagement and work experience. Additionally, Employee Services Manager implements policies and procedures to guide department workflow to control program costs, promoting efficiency and optimizing administrative hours delegated to programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Employee Services Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Employee Services Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Based in Yosemite National Park; the Housing & Recreation Manager is responsible for working closely with the Leadership team to lead Employee Services functions of the operations, specifically all operational functions within employee housing, uniforms, and employee recreation.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Responsible for hiring, training, and managing housing and recreation teams.
    • Participate in the overall planning and management of the housing system and provide input in the development of policies and procedures
    • Coordinate administrative operations in regards to housing
    • Manage and coordinate all room assignments and changes and communicate/resolve problems in accordance with established procedures
    • Be available, approachable, and accessible within the residence to all employees
    • Uphold all housing policies and procedures
    • Monitor seniority lists to provide accurate and fair housing services directly to employees
    • Mediate conflicts between employees when necessary
    • Uphold the established standards of privacy and confidentiality
    • Respond to all inquiries, problems, and complaints from employees related to the housing
    • Conduct investigations and investigate all ER issues/hotline concerns in regarding to housing
    • Responsible for providing and maintaining extraordinary levels of service through a high level of influence, execution and prioritizing of duties
    • Accompany Employee Services Manager on all NPS Housing inspections and assist with follow up items to ensure all deficiencies are corrected
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and fair employment practice and any applicable government labor regulations
    • Partner and collaborate on a regular basis with Yosemite Hospitality management, maintenance, HR Team, NPS Law Enforcement and Wildlife
    • Manage the Yosemite Hospitality App in partnership with the HR Team
    • Administer the employee recreation programs to make sure there are safe and wholesome activities for employees to participate in
    • Planning and scheduling events and functions with the appropriate staff for the associates
    • Oversee and evaluate all programs, activities, and events
    • Leads the team in planning events to keep employee morale up as well as outreaching to the community.
    • Conducting scheduled as well as impromptu events, functions, training classes, and meetings as required by community involvement level.
    • Creates a monthly calendar of events with all details and logistics worked out in advance. Public outreach and communication through company email, social media, and publications including flyers, memos, and newsletters.
    • Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of employee housing facilities and wellness center facilities by partnering with the maintenance department and management.
    • Assist in emergency situations as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned by management.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree required; preferably in Business Administration or Human Resources.
    • Minimum of 1-3 years? experience in a Human Resource or Employee Services
    • Must have excellent planning, administrative, and supervisory skills.
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively deal with a wide variety of personnel a must.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
    • Able to work in a variety of weather conditions
    • Previous experience managing employee housing, or student housing preferred
    • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed
