Employment Coordinator 

Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

40 hours per week

An employee in this position is responsible for the ongoing search for employment and training sites in addition to the coordination of people’s abilities to jobs culminating in a successful job placement.

Essential Functions:

• Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Employment Services or designee the duties and outcomes include, but are not limited to the following:
• Placement of people  on a job of their choice in the community or contracted work site.
• People, who are placed, maintain continued employment as a result of support services provided by the Agency or natural supports on the job site.
• Job placements sufficient to meet the needs of newly enrolled and recently unemployed people are developed.
• Provide on-the-job orientation for Job Coaches prior to working with people on their designated job site.
• Consistently model and build effective communication and teamwork needed to assure that People’s goals and outcomes are met.
• Develop trial job placements and sites for job tours to support the Agency’s vocational evaluation process in a cooperative effort with other Agency personnel.
• Assist people in completing resumes and job application forms.
• Assist people in interviewing for jobs of their choice.
• Coordinate services with State offices such as Vocational Rehabilitation, Developmental Disabilities and the Mental Health Divisions of the Human Service Center.
• Complete required data collection, reports, and other necessary agency paperwork.
• Serve as a consultant on individual planning teams and provide expertise in the area of job development and career exploration.
• Assist in the development of work and training stations in the facility and community including curriculum guides with explicit description of appropriate strategies for implementation and evaluation.
• Provide assessment and interviewing skills for people enrolled to assist in the job seeking and placement process.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Preferred:  Bachelor’s degree in a human service field (including but not limited to: sociology, special education, rehabilitation, counseling, education, psychology, speech, communication, social work, developmental disabilities)
• Developmental Disabilities module certification.  
• A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• A driving record that makes you insurable.
• Must complete a successful background check

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to manage requested time off within allowed PTO and give reasonable notice when requesting PTO.
• Ability to actively participate in meetings and on-going training.
• Ability to complete assignments without reminders (including a positive interaction style, professionalism, and teamwork).
• Ability to communicate effectively with the business community.
• Ability to complete job task analysis and job match.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to supervise, direct and motivate other staff to work towards goals.
• Knowledge of teaching and training techniques as related to people with disabilities.
